Question: I sorry to say it, but I have some issues with your baccarat games and the way you have falsely advertised them.
I started playing baccarat at your online casino after having seen that you pay eight times the money whenever there is a tie at baccarat. Eight times your bet is a lot of money and I thought I would make a lot.
I then changed strategy. I saw on the internet that the banker wins more than 50 percent compared to the player. This then should mean I win money in that long run. I don’t play for much money, because I don’t have too much. I’m quite young and trying to make my way in life. I thought this might have been my chance.
It said there was a baccarat commission or something. 5 percent it said or C$1. What was that about? Do I pay one dollar after each baccarat session? Or is it a voluntary contribution? In such case, if I have paid a lot in baccarat commission, can I claim it back?
In every game I played I made a flat bet of C$5. And I always bet on the banker since the chances of winning are more than 50 percent.
Still I have lost all of my savings due to this. And it went so fast. I just couldn’t believe my eyes how fast I lost. I thought baccarat was the best casino game around for the player. The one with the best odds, and especially so the banker bet where you win more than 50 percent of the time. I saw a future in becoming a professional baccarat player. You know, touring the world and stuff. Why do you make baccarat scam bets for people?! You’ve ruined my baccarat dreams now. Can I please have my money back so I can play banker baccarat somewhere more honest?
Thanks.

Answer: Dear Orson,
We’re sorry to hear about your unfortunate baccarat experiences. However, to be perfectly fair, they may stem from some misunderstanding on your part.
All of this is thoroughly stated in the terms and conditions that you confirmed to when signing up. All rules of baccarat are clearly listed there, no exceptions.
In baccarat, the tie bet is one of the worst one offered at any casino, whether live or online. It has a house edge of 14 percent. Any simple google search would have told you that.
And with regards to the banker bet in baccarat, due to the very fact that it has a higher chance than 50 percent compared to that of the player to win, the difference needs to be taken from somewhere in order to gain an advantage. That gain is taken via a 5 percent commission.
Those commissions have a minimum of C$1. Whenever you bet C$5 on the banker and won, you wouldn’t get C$5 back, but C$4. This renders the house a massive 20 percent edge which is also why your money disappeared in a rush. Such disadvantage is literally impossible to overcome, even in the short run.
I’m sorry, but we cannot give any money back as nothing of illicit nature has taken place. It is up to every player to read up on rules and conditions prior to gambling.
